How important is water consumption for effective weight loss

May 30, 2022

Water is a vital part of our everyday lives because 60 percent of our body weight is made up of water. Our bodies use water in all the cells, organs, and tissues, to help regulate and maintain all body functions. Humans cannot survive for more than one week without fresh water. However, a lot of us underestimate the importance of drinking water and don’t truly appreciate what water does for our bodies.

Here are five fantastic reasons why water is important to your health:

Regulates body temperature

Staying hydrated is critical to maintain a normal body temperature. Our bodies lose water through sweat during physical activities and in hot weather. Sweat keeps your body cool; however, your temperature will rise if you don’t replenish the water you lose. If you’re sweating more than usual, make sure you drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.

Promotes weight loss

Drinking more water will help you feel full longer. When your stomach is full, it sends signals to the brain to reduce your hunger and makes you less likely to overeat. This can be a big help in managing your weight.

Maintains healthy skin

Adequate water intake helps keep your skin hydrated and may promote collagen production. Staying hydrated can hence reduce the appearance of ageing, making you look younger and fresher, forget about expensive creams!

Boosts our energy levels

Drinking enough water activates your metabolism which is associated with a positive impact on energy levels. Water delivers important nutrients to our cells, especially muscle cells, postponing muscle fatigue when doing intense training.

Aid in digestion & Prevents Constipation

Experts confirm drinking water before, during, and after a meal will help your body digest food more easily and effectively. It will aid in constipation and other abdominal problems, especially those suffering from IBS. Make sure you get enough water to have a healthy bowel.

Remember, water is your friend, and proper hydration is a key to good health!
