How to avoid constipation during Ramadan
Constipation during Ramadan is a common problem associated with some lifestyle changes. A lack of nutritional needs knowledge or the improper performance of fasting, particularly in relation to time, type and amount of food intake, can cause clinical problems such as indigestion, bloating, constipation, and other conditions.
To prevent constipation, you should follow these tips:
- Increase consumption of fluids to at least 2 liters daily.
- Break your Iftar with soup and salad.
- Gradually increase your fiber intake.
- Eat 3-5 servings of fruits and vegetables.
- Choose whole wheat bread & high fiber cereals and legumes.
- Add chia seeds and dried prunes to your diet.
- Substitute sweets with a variety of seasonal fruits.
- Try to include exercise or physical activity to your daily routine.
